Q.1 What distinguishes BSC Academy from other institutes of India?
Ans. BSC Academy is fundamentally different from other institutes. One, since its inception in 1993, BSC has been devoted to the banking sector. So much so that it has become a household name for Bank exams. Only after being assured of a solid footing in banking, it ventured into SSC exams with full preparation. BSC now provides classroom coaching for SSC Graduate Level (Prelims & Mains) with Mock Tests at many of its Centres.

Two, it is a publication house on its own providing high-standard books on all sections of Bank exams. Among others, we have bestsellers like Quicker Maths by M Tyra, Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey and English Is Easy by Chetananand Singh.

Three, BSC has been very selective in recruiting faculty members. They have excelled in academics, coming from premier institutes like JNU, DU, IIMs and IITs, working on a regular and visiting basis.

Every second branch of public sector banks is manned by a successful BSC student.
Q.7 What is the eligibility for taking Bank PO exams?
Ans. Until four years back, individual banks recruited their personnel on their own, taking the help of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for framing questions. Currently, 21 public sector banks (except State Bank of India and its five associate banks) and NABARD have assigned the task to the IBPS to take a Common Written Examination (CWE) every year for Bank PO and Clerical cadre personnel. Earlier, individual banks decided percentage of marks in graduation for a candidate being eligible for its exams. Currently, any graduate can appear in the exam.

Ans. It has been decided by the competent authority to hold two-tier examinations (followed by interview) for recruitment of PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V onwards. All the candidates who successfully register themselves under CWE PO/MT-V and CWE CLERK-V will be called for Preliminary Examinations. Based on the performance in the preliminary examination, a certain number of candidates will be shortlisted for each of these examinations. The shortlisted candidates will then be called for Main Examinations. There will be fewer number of questions in the Preliminary Examination with shorter duration. The marks obtained in the Preliminary examination will not be considered for preparing the final merit list and the marks obtained in the Main Examination will only be considered for short listing for interview.
